  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ cup mashed banana (about 1 large banana)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (for filling)
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 large bananas (sliced for filling)
  • Cream cheese frosting ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine lukewarm milk and melted butter. Add sugar, yeast, and salt; mix until combined.
  2. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough; knead until smooth.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled.
  4. For the filling, mix mashed banana with softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the banana mixture evenly on top and add sliced bananas.
  6. Roll up tightly from one long side and cut into equal pieces.
  7. Place in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour heavy cream over rolls before baking and bake for about 25–30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth, then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
