  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a donut pan with non-stick spray.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping. Add cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse meal. Chill in the freezer.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk egg, sour cream, and melted butter. Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined.
  4. Fill the donut pan molds halfway with batter and sprinkle crumb topping over each.
  5. Bake for 10–11 minutes until donuts bounce back when pressed. Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
