  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (or vegan butter)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, spices, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until mixture resembles small peas.
  4. Stir in molasses and milk until just combined.
  5. Transfer dough onto a floured surface and shape into a circle about 3/4 inch thick.
  6. Brush the top with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
  7. Cut into wedges and place on a baking sheet.
