  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 4 tsp. garlic, minced
  • 28 oz. can fire-roasted crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz. can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz. can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onions and minced garlic until softened (3-4 minutes).
  2. Add ground turkey to the pot; cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
  3. Stir in brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and tomato paste.
  4. Pour in beef broth and crushed tomatoes; add all three types of beans.
  5. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes.
